Matt Webb is an award winning radio presenter, journalist and head of production. A familiar voice to listeners in Cambridge (UK) for over 20 years, he's worked in BBC, commercial and community radio since 2003. He's picked up a string of accodlades in a variety of specialist fields: Finalist - Male Presenter of the Year Community Radio Awards 2022 Finalist - Public Understanding National Men and Boys Awards 2022 Silver - Speech & Journalism of the Year: The Alex Skeel Interview Community Radio Awards 2019 Bronze - Podcast of the Year: Talking Men series Community Radio Awards 2017 Bronze - Station Sound of the Year: Cambridge 105 Radio Community Radio Awards 2016 Matt's Talking Men radio series, which won bronze in the 2017 Community Radio Awards, was the first show of it's kind to receive a national radio award in the UK. He was a finalist at the 2022 Community Radio Awards in the Male Presenter of the Year category - recognising his outstanding skills on air as one of the sector's top male presenters. Matt was also a finalist at the 2022 National Men and Boys Awards in the Public Understanding category. On the 8 September 2022 Matt was on air when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away, breaking the news on Cambridge 105 Radio. He went on to present 3 hours of rolling news coverage and local reaction. This, along with other elements of the station's coverage in the week of national mourning was recognised at the 2023 Community Radio Awards receiving a Bronze in the special 'Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life, Reign and Passing' category. National Diploma Standard
Matt studied a National Diploma in Media (Radio Broadcasting) at Cambridge Regional College (2003-2005). As part of the course, an RSL radio station was run for both years for 2 weeks as a final major project. Matt was the station manager of 87.7 Flava FM.
Matt completed the course with Distinction, Distinction, Merit (equivalent of 2 A's and a B at A-Level).
