Amateur Radio

Matt is a licenced radio amateur in the UK, with the callsign: M7ILR.

Radio amateurs can select their callsigns upon passing their exam to obtain a licence. Independent Local Radio is known as 'ILR' in the radio industry and when Matt saw the callsign was available, he thought, "that's the one!".

Matt can often be heard on local repeaters in the Cambridgeshire area as part of nets, these include: GB3PI, GB3PY and GB3OV.

He's also a member of the Cambridgeshire Repeater Group.

Matt regularly takes part in amateur radio contesting and events, including running the Cambridgeshire '145 Alive' nets.

Matt's worked other amateur radio stations and users across Europe and the world.
